In order to practice social work in Maryland or to refer to oneself as a social worker, an individual must be licensed by the Maryland>Board of Social Work Examiners. To practice clinical social work in Maryland, an individual must be licensed as a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical level.
Effective July 1, 2004 and revised December 17, 2007. These regulations were developed because the 2000 social work statute, required that supervision regulations be developed.
